Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of yougrove.com and every adoption you place with YouGróve, a family olive farm in Andria (BT), Puglia, Italy (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an adoption you accept them. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you hold under mandatory consumer law.
1. What an adoption is
A YouGróve adoption is a yearly sponsorship of olive trees growing on our estate. For the duration of your adoption you receive the yearly volume of extra virgin olive oil stated for your tier, bottled under the name you choose, delivered in the shipments stated for your tier, together with a personalized adoption certificate, harvest reports from your rows, and access to your grove dashboard. The trees themselves remain part of the farm: we own them, care for them, and harvest them on your behalf. An adoption transfers no ownership of land, trees, or crops.
2. Tiers, prices and payment
The tiers, their yearly oil volumes, and their prices are shown on the site at the time of purchase. Prices are in US dollars and, where required, include applicable VAT. Payment is taken once per adoption year, in advance, through our payment processor Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, or PayPal). Your adoption begins when payment is confirmed.
3. Renewal and cancellation
Adoptions run for one year at a time and do not roll over silently. Before your year ends we remind you by email. If you paid with a method that supports secure renewals and it was saved for that purpose, we renew your adoption with that method after the reminder; otherwise renewal happens only when you confirm it. You can cancel at any time by emailing hello@yougrove.com or through your grove dashboard: your current year runs to its end with all remaining shipments, and nothing further is charged.
4. Personalization
The name you enter (up to 14 characters) is printed on your bottles and certificate exactly as typed. Please check the spelling; personalized bottles that were printed as ordered cannot be reprinted free of charge. You confirm that you are entitled to use the name you provide, and we may decline text that is offensive or infringes someone’s rights, refunding the adoption if we do.
5. Shipping
Your first shipment leaves the farm within 14 days of your adoption; the following shipments follow your tier’s stated rhythm, twice a year for the single-tree adoption and quarterly for the larger groves. You are responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and for any customs duties or import charges levied outside the European Union. If a parcel comes back to us because the address was wrong or the delivery went unclaimed, we contact you and reship; a second shipping fee may apply.
6. A natural product
Olive oil is an agricultural product. Color, aroma and taste vary from harvest to harvest, and polyphenol values are measured per harvest, not guaranteed per bottle. Should an exceptional season (frost, drought, disease or another event outside our control) leave your rows short of your tier’s stated volume, we make up the difference from the estate’s certified-organic reserve of the same harvest or, where that is impossible, extend your adoption or refund the undelivered share, at your choice.
7. Returns and refunds
If a shipment arrives damaged, leaking, or faulty, write to us within 14 days of delivery with a photo and we replace it or refund it, whichever you prefer. Under EU consumer rules the usual 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to goods personalized to your order (your named bottles) or to sealed food products once unsealed. Aside from those legal exceptions we handle things simply: if you cancel before your first shipment has been prepared, we refund the year in full; afterwards we refund the undelivered shipments, keeping only what has already shipped. Refunds go back to the original payment method.
8. The grove dashboard
Your dashboard access is personal to your adoption. You agree not to misuse the site — no attempts to breach its security, scrape it, or use it unlawfully. We may suspend access that endangers the service, and we restore it once the issue is resolved.
9. Our content
The YouGróve name, logo, label designs, photography and site content belong to us or our licensors. You may not reproduce them commercially without our written permission. The certificate is yours to print, frame and gift.
10. Liability
We are liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under mandatory product liability law. For ordinary negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual duties and up to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract — in practice, the price of your adoption year. Nothing in this section limits rights that consumer law grants you and that cannot be waived.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for future adoption years; the version in force when you adopt (or renew) is the one that applies to that year. The current version always lives on this page with its effective date.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may sue or be sued in that country’s courts. We will always try to settle any concern directly first — write to us and we will make it right. The European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
