Privacy Policy
YouGróve (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a family olive farm in Andria (BT), Puglia, Italy, and the operator of yougrove.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site or adopt a grove, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect little.
What we collect
- Order details. Your email address, the name you ask us to print on the bottle and certificate, your chosen adoption tier, and your shipping address.
- Payment details. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card or wallet details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers; we receive only a payment confirmation, the last digits of your card, and a secure customer reference we use to manage your adoption and its renewal.
- Correspondence. Emails you send to hello@yougrove.com.
- Technical basics. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) kept briefly for security and to keep the site running.
What we use it for
- Bottling your oil under the name you chose and preparing your personalized certificate.
- Shipping your deliveries and sending you tracking information.
- Sending the emails that belong to your adoption: your certificate, harvest reports from your rows, shipping notices, and a renewal reminder before a new year begins.
- Answering your messages and fulfilling our legal obligations (accounting, tax).
We only write when there is something from the grove. We do not send third-party advertising, and we never sell or rent your personal data.
Legal bases
Where EU data protection law (GDPR) applies, we process your data to perform our contract with you (fulfilling your adoption), to comply with legal obligations, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and our records accurate. Renewal reminders about your own adoption are sent on the basis of our existing customer relationship; you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
Only the partners needed to deliver and sustain the service: Stripe (payment processing), our shipping carriers (name and delivery address on the parcel), our email provider (to send the messages above), our hosting provider, and Meta (advertising measurement, as described under Cookies below). Each acts under contract and may not use your data for its own purposes beyond those terms. Some partners process data outside the EU; where they do, transfers rest on recognized safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies and browser storage
The site stores the name and email you type during checkout in your own browser’s session storage so the forms stay filled while you complete your adoption; it never leaves your device and clears when the browser session ends. Stripe sets the cookies it needs for secure, fraud-free payment.
To measure our advertising we use the Meta pixel and Conversions API. Meta sets the _fbp and _fbc cookies and receives page-visit and purchase events — including your email address in hashed form — so we can tell which campaigns brought adopters to the grove. We use this only for measurement, never to build profiles ourselves. You can manage how Meta uses this data at facebook.com/adpreferences, and browser tracking protection or content blockers stop the pixel entirely.
How long we keep it
We keep order and shipping records for as long as your adoption is active and thereafter for the period Italian accounting and tax law requires (currently ten years for invoicing records). Correspondence is kept as long as needed to help you. Server logs are rotated within weeks.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to processing, or receive it in a portable format. Write to hello@yougrove.com and we will respond within one month. If you believe we have not treated your data properly, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority; in Italy this is the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali.
A note on gifted adoptions
If you give an adoption as a gift, the recipient’s name appears on the bottle and certificate. Please only share a name you are entitled to share. We use it solely for printing and for the certificate itself.
Children
Our shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16; if you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date. For meaningful changes we will tell active adopters by email.
